SPS

Small Polyp Stony corals ( SPS ) are definitely not the choice for the beginner. These either branching or plating corals are more difficult that most other corals although advances have made them far easier to keep than in the past. SPS corals require intense lighting and turbulent water conditions. They also require excellent water quality and other very stable parameters such as temperature, calcium, magnesium and alkalinity levels. Strontium and Iodine are also essential for proper growth.
